What is Transport?
Copper Tip operates a fleet of bulk transport trailers for the safe delivery of oilfield chemicals and cryogenic product to wellsites, plants, and industrial locations across Canada and the United States. Our transport services are fully integrated with our field operations, ensuring the right volumes arrive on location, on time.
Acid transport requires specialized tank trailers built for corrosive service, with TDG-certified drivers trained in the handling and emergency response for hazardous materials. Our acid transport fleet is compliant with Transport Canada and US DOT regulations for both domestic and cross-border shipments, hauling 26,000 to 30,000L in DOT 412 acid-lined fibreglass tanks. Stainless bulk trailers carry stainless-compatible chemical and fluid loads in DOT 407 T316 dual-compartment tanks.
Liquid nitrogen moves by nitrogen bulker — a 24,500 m³ cryogenic trailer running to 620 kPag (90 psig), with an onboard boost pump for rapid offloading. Bulkers deliver LN₂ to supply pumping units on location or to fill on-site storage. The storage units themselves, along with the gaseous tube trailer fleet, are covered under Nitrogen Storage.

What is a nitrogen bulker?
A nitrogen bulker is a bulk liquid nitrogen transport trailer, used for large-volume LN₂ delivery to wellsite and plant locations. Copper Tip's bulkers hold 24,500 m³ at up to 620 kPag (90 psig) and carry an onboard boost pump for rapid offloading, along with a cryogenic load hose, pressure relief valves, and visual gauges for tank volume and pressure. They supply nitrogen pumping units on site, enabling sustained operations beyond individual unit storage capacity.
What is the difference between transport and nitrogen storage?
Transport is what moves product on the road — acid, chemical, and bulk liquid nitrogen hauled to location by trailer. Nitrogen storage is what stays on location: the Nitrogen Storage King and Queen, and the gaseous tube trailer fleet, spotted at the wellsite or facility to supply the job for as long as it runs. The two are booked together often, but they are separate services.
What certifications are required for acid transport in Canada?
Drivers transporting hydrochloric acid and other dangerous goods must hold a valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate under Transport Canada regulations. This covers classification, documentation, placarding, emergency response, and spill containment. All Copper Tip transport personnel hold current TDG and applicable dangerous goods certifications.
